A private dental clinic in Malta, with six dentists under one roof
We are a private dental practice in Birkirkara: at St Anne's Clinic since 2001, and at our main clinic at Trident Park, Mrieħel, since 2023. Six dentists work here, between us covering routine care, cosmetic work, gum treatment and implant surgery, with consultations in English, Italian, Spanish, Polish or German.

Dr Jonathan Mifsud
Dental Implantologist
Dr Jonathan Mifsud founded Apex Dental and runs the implant side of the practice. He places everything from single implants to full-arch and All-on-4 cases, and takes on the more complex treatment planning — the cases that need to be thought through carefully before anyone picks up an instrument.

PLDEOrthodontist
Dr Aleksandra Syrico Mallia leads orthodontics at Apex Dental. She treats children, teenagers and adults with both fixed braces and clear aligners, and works with our in-house Orthix aligner system as well as Invisalign, ClearCorrect, Ordoline and Cristaline. She plans each case around how your teeth bite together, not just how they look from the front. Polish- and German-speaking patients are welcome to consult with her in Polish or German.

Dr Charlotte Axisa covers general and restorative dentistry — the check-ups, fillings, crowns and preventive care that make up most visits. Patients tend to mention how calm and unhurried she is, which helps if you are someone who has put off the dentist for a while.

Dr Massimo D'Alessandro trained and worked in Italy before joining us. If Italian is your first language, you can see him and talk through your treatment in Italian rather than working it out in English.

In Birkirkara since 2001, now two clinics
Apex Dental has cared for patients at St Anne's Clinic in Birkirkara since 2001; our main clinic at Trident Park, Mrieħel, opened in 2023. Both are in central Malta, a short drive apart; their addresses and opening hours are below.
Dentists who speak your language
All six of our dentists speak English, and consultations are also available in Polish, German, Italian and Spanish. Dr Aleksandra Syrico Mallia also speaks Polish and German; Dr Massimo D'Alessandro also speaks Italian; Dr Martha Lopez also speaks Spanish.
Implants placed by Dr Jonathan Mifsud
Dr Jonathan Mifsud, our dental implantologist, plans and places implant treatment in-house, from a single tooth to full-arch and All-on-4 cases, rather than referring patients out part-way through.
Straumann implants, planned from a 3D CBCT scan
We place Straumann BLX implants, a Swiss implant system. Every implant case starts with a CBCT scan, a low-dose 3D X-ray of the jaw, and the position of each implant is planned on screen before surgery. The scan is included when you go ahead with surgery.
Implants and All-on-4 at both clinics
Single implants, bone grafts and All-on-4 and All-on-6 full arches are all done at both of our clinics, with the same published prices at both. All-on-4 often has temporary teeth fitted on the day of surgery.
Same-day CEREC crowns
With CEREC, many crowns are designed and milled in the clinic from a block of tooth-coloured ceramic and fitted at one appointment, with no temporary crown and no second visit for the crown itself. Not every tooth is suitable; your dentist tells you whether yours is.
Our own dental laboratory
Apex Dental has its own dental laboratory in Birkirkara, so the crowns, bridges and full arches that sit on your implants are made close by.
Orthix, our in-house clear aligner
Orthix is our own clear aligner, designed and produced in-house rather than ordered from an overseas lab, and planned by our orthodontist, Dr Aleksandra Syrico Mallia. She also treats with Invisalign, ClearCorrect, Ordoline and Cristaline aligners, and with fixed braces.
Digital scans, not putty
Aligner and crown treatment starts with a digital scan of your teeth instead of the old putty impressions, so there is nothing to gag on.
A Sunday-morning emergency clinic
Trident Park holds an emergency clinic on Sunday from 9am to 12:30pm, and St Anne's Clinic is closed on Sundays. The rest of the week, call or WhatsApp us: we do our best to fit emergencies in as quickly as possible, and when there is a free appointment today it is the one we offer you first. A Sunday appointment carries an extra Sunday fee.
Published prices, the same at both clinics
Every fee is on our price list, and the fees are the same at both clinics. A routine check-up is €30, and for larger treatment you have the full cost of your plan in writing before it starts. You can pay by card, bank transfer or Revolut.
